Sadness in our Family...

Last Monday, October 15th 2012, our dog Ozzy passed onto the next world.  He was the best dog anyone in our family has known, and he was my "baby"...he was the first living thing I took care of from a baby on my own.  This is bittersweet, since he had developed a knee ligament problem last year which I'm sure made him uncomfortable, so at least he is out of pain.  Luckily, Logan is too young to understand death or grieving.  Our other dog, Kaytie seems a bit lonely, she sticks close to me.  However, she seems to be doing much better than I had anticipated.


Rest in peace, Ozzy Bear.  We love you so much.

I took my son out to do a great Halloween activity today, so I thought I'd show off some pictures!  He had the best time.  We went to Orr's Family Farm in Oklahoma City.  It was pricy, but it was worth it because he had a great time.  We got to ride a carousel and a train, they give out free pumpkins to the kids, and there was all kinds of food.  On to the pictures!    ............

Surgery's over!

I'm finally back!!  I had my spinal fusion done last month, and I'm finally starting to feel a little better.  The surgery was rougher than I thought, but everything is going well now.

 More good news, I've been chosen to be the Community Leader for the Sept. 2010 Birthday Club on BabyZone.com, I'm so excited!  Since the group on Facebook has abandoned me and won't tell me why, I'm excited to be able to talk to some other moms (hopefully no one stuck up like in the facebook group) about this magical time in our babies' lives!

This will be a short post since that's all I have for now, but I'll be back soon and with some cute pictures!

Liason - Been gone!

Hello all,

I wanted to let my (so far few, hopefully not for long!) readers know that I have been very sick with a stomach virus this week, and between that, my back and my son, all of my time has been taken!  Anyhow, just a quick note to everyone to let you know that I'm hanging in there.

I have some major back surgery coming up in a few weeks, so I may be incommunicado for part of this month.

Review ~ Revlon Perfect Heat 3/4" Spiral Curling Iron

I recently purchased several curling irons, none of which I liked or would work with my hair.  I have very thick hair and lots of it.  I started paying attention to the amount of heat that these products produce, and there is a big difference - of course normally the hotter the better as far as style, but you have to be careful with those so you don't fry your hair.  That's what I love about the Revlon Spiral Curling Iron - it's plenty hot to curl my hair nicely and stay curled all day.  

The Revlon Perfect Heat 3/4" Spiral Curling Iron has many heat settings, from 1 - 30, so if you have fine hair you can use the lower settings.  I always use the highest setting, and my hair turns out perfect every time.

The best part about this product?  The affordability.  You can purchase this product at Wal Mart for under $17.  So if you want a great salon-quality curling iron but don't want to shell out ridiculous amounts of money, this is a great alternative!

Help...I need somebody...Help! Not just anybody...

Hi all!

I am looking for a bit of info from you bloggers:  Last Friday I saw a blog post (I can't for the life of me remember the name of the blog) about a giveaway that they were trying to put together, but they needed more blogger sponsors.  The buy in was $5 - I believe the giveaway was for a spa day but I could be wrong; this one could have been for an Amazon Kindle or what-have-you, depending on how much money is raised.

Anyway I really want to sign up but I can't find it!  Can any of your bloggers *please* help me out?  =)

Due to my physical limitations, I've decided to do most of my planting in containers this year since it's just so much easier.  I planted my herbs yesterday and had to share!  Pics below; the back pot has: Spearmint (it even came with a recipe for Mint Juleps!), Purple Sage & Sweet Basil.  The front pot has my beloved Lavender and one of my new favorite plants, another Calibrachoa.  This one said it's orange, but the blooms look as pink as they can be to me!  I'm so happy with it, and so glad I found these flowers!  That one's not an herb of course, just for fun and some color. =)

I am experimenting with some container gardening this year, this is one of my favorites.  In this display I have Salvia, Blue Daze, Fan Flower (Scaevola "Top Pot Pink"), Angelonia, Lantana, Spikes, Sweet Potato Vine, Vinca Minor, and a beautiful annual that I found this year that is one of my new loves, the Calibrachoa!  I took a picture soon after I planted this pot, that's the top one - the bottom one is from Thursday (the 7th of June).  I wish I had a picture of the pot at a better angle from when I first planted it, but such is life.  I've also moved it from my front porch to the back where it gets more sunlight.  It seems happy there, and since most of my time is spent in the backyard with the little one, it just means I get to enjoy it more.  Can't wait to start my herb pot today!
